LET'S SAY MORE
OUR MISSION
“Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.’ – Luke 14:23
Our mission field lives in the space between the pulpit and the pub—and we are committed to embodying this calling. Jesus invites us beyond the safety of copycat culture into the costly, redemptive work of cultivating inclusive, adjacent spaces that don’t fit neatly into “Christian” or “secular” categories.
We believe a unique convergence of artists, shepherds, and marketplace leaders is being raised up to help “fill the house.” Our hope is to be known first as practitioners, and secondly as a resource for business and community development.
OUR PRACTICE
We’re Practitioners First!
We can’t lead others where we’re not willing to go ourselves.
Over more than a decade of seeking—and often stumbling—toward Jesus and His Kingdom, we’ve looked back and recognized a kind of Kingdom ecosystem forming around us. It’s made up of spaces for art and music, good works, hospitality, and community building.
Every ecosystem will look different, but here’s a small example of ours, rooted in Downtown Peoria, AZ. We believe that under the guidance of shepherds, entrepreneurs, and artists, each of these spaces contributes to what we call “The Banquet Table.”
You might have to get scrappy and creative—but every neighborhood holds potential.
LET’S INVERT
For too long, business has disproportionately influenced the Church—shaping churches that operate like companies and pastors who function more like CEOs.
But what if we turned this on its head? What if the Church began to move intentionally into the marketplace? Could businesses start to be mistaken for churches?
Could this be a way to both resource the local Church and extend its presence into the mission field?
The lines are getting blurry—and that’s exactly the kind of space where The Banquet lives.
CORE CONVICTIONS
Banquet is highly relational and practitioner-driven. Our deepest desire is to influence the secular domain through loving encroachment—not by force, but through presence, care, and creativity.
At the core of every project we take on, these values are intentionally baked
Jesus-centered
Jesus is not only our solid ground but our common ground too.
Relational
Banquets are best when we’re in it for the people not the project itself. If it doesn’t end in oneness it’s not Jesus’ prayer!
Gutsy
Tired of playing defense and ONLY having influence on Sundays? Step into the unknown!
PARTNERS
THIS LANGUAGE IS NOT OUR OWN. BRAVE CITIES HEADED BY FRIENDS & PARTNERS HUGH HALTER AND TAYLOR MCCALL ARE WHO WE POINT TO AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT BY BUILDING “KINGDOM ECOSYSTEMS” IN EVERY NEIGHBORHOOD. THEY ARE FIRSTLY PRACTITIONERS IN THEIR CITY OF ALTON AND THEIR BOOK BRAVE CITIES LAYS OUT THE ESSENTIALS OF BUILDING THESE KINGDOM ECOSYSTEMS. WE REALLY BELIEVE THAT THESE GUYS ARE PIONEERS ON THE EDGE OF THIS MOVEMENT OF GOD’S FUTURE CHURCH AND CONSIDER THEM MENTORS. IF YOU MEET US AT ALL WE WILL MOST LIKELY ASK YOU IF YOU’VE READ BRAVE CITIES AND IF NOT WE’LL MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR COPY AS IT WILL BE A PREREQUISITE FOR PARTNERSHIP.
